Simple Handicraft Ideas to Do at Home
Handmade Candle Decors
It might be a lovely idea to pack candles in several ways to make them look fancy. Start with a candle that is long and straight. Selecting odorless white candles can allow you to create a variety of unique styles. However, if you like, you can also amend the scented and colored ones.
- Take a plain candle or vanilla-scented and some rope or fabric. Assemble the cinnamon sticks around the sides of the candle, bind the cinnamon sticks with the fabric or rope and place them on the candle. When the cinnamon warms up, it gives off an exceptionally good smell.
- Take a square burlap or bagging material and a textured piece of fabric. Cut a large piece of burlap and smaller size patterned cloth for the center of the burlap using cloth scissors. Glue the patterned piece with hot glue or another solid adhesive. Then attach this part with a little string to the candle.
- Take a small glass jar. Add the glue to the bottom of the jar and put the candle at the top of the glue. Cover the gap between the candle and the jar with flat glass stones. Stones may be one or two colors. The colors will glow when the candle is lit.
Design Frosted Glasses
Buy inexpensive glasses of wine or cups of brandy. Wrap them tightly with a couple of rubber bands, load them with a paper, and then gently apply the frost-finish spray to the external surface. Pull the rubber bands after the paint has dried to give a rusted appearance to the surface.
Make Decorative Soaps
While creating high-quality and luxury soaps take a great deal of time, making basic decorative soaps do not take half an hour and you can use them in your bathroom immediately if you want.
Visit a hobby or craft store to buy a block of glycerin soap and also colored textile dye, a few essences (such as lemon, lavender, or mint), and lastly the soft silicone or plastic molds. Break a slice of glycerin soap into the shape of a block and melt it in the microwave. Then, with a stick, apply a few drops of pigment and essence and combine. Pour the mixture into the molds and wait for them to cool off. Then remove it from the molds and clean it. Carefully shave with a knife to remove excess residue from the edges.
While these activities will enable you to have a productive time with yourself, also will provide certain confidence in your skills and foster your positive emotions regarding your home. In this way, they will both physically and mentally improve the atmosphere of your living spaces.
